Deze zomer presenteert YOT in Madeleine in Brugge het werk van kunstenaar Stijn D'Hondt in het zomerproject 'Pulse of Unity - het hart verbindt'. D'Hondt vangt de poëzie van hartslagen met behulp van geavanceerde technologie en een vingersensor. Met deze hartslagen creëert hij utopische werelden waarin deze elkaar vinden en verbinden.

Naast deze intrigerende beelden en verhalen vind je in de kerk een interactieve installatie waarbij jij samen met een ander (bekend of onbekend) jullie hartslag kunnen verbinden. Vervolgens worden deze hartslagen vertaald in een kleurrijk beeld op groot scherm.

In de rand van deze tentoonstelling gaat YOT dieper in op de betekenis van het hart binnen het christendom en spiritualiteit. Herinner je je nog de populaire Heilige Hartcultus? Wist je dat 'het hart' verkeerd vertaald is in de Bijbel? Waar zien we het hart werkzaam in de actualiteit? En welke plek krijgt het hart binnen spiritualiteit?

This summer, YOT presents in Madeleine in Bruges the work of artist Stijn D'Hondt in the summer project 'Pulse of Unity - the heart connects'. D'Hondt captures the poetry of heartbeats using advanced technology and a finger sensor. With these heartbeats, he creates utopian worlds in which the heartbeats connect with each other.

In addition to these intriguing images and stories, you will find an interactive installation in the church where you, together with another person (known or unknown), can connect your heartbeats. These heartbeats are then translated into a colorful image on a large screen.

On the sidelines of this exhibition, YOT delves deeper into the meaning of the heart within Christianity and spirituality. Do you remember the popular Sacred Heart cult?
